LightScene Studio oversaw the lighting design for Depero: Space to Space exhibition, the highlight of the 2026 program at Casa Museo Bagatti Valsecchi in Milan.
The lighting atmospheres, developed in close collaboration with the architectural firm a-fact, which designed the exhibition, interpret and enhance the unexpected dialogue between Fortunato Depero's futurist aesthetics and the precious historical features of the Milanese residence.
In this project, light and exhibition design connect to construct a narrative thread that links Depero to the Bagatti Valsecchi brothers: personalities distant in time but united by the idea of inhabiting spaces permeated by art, conceived as the total expression of their cultural vision. The light, calibrated to enhance the chromatic and dynamic power of Depero's canvas, is articulated in precise accents and targeted focal points. In contrast, the works in the permanent collection are caressed by softer, more diffuse brushstrokes of light, in a carefully measured balance.
The result is a refined composition of chiaroscuro that creates an intimate and enveloping atmosphere, capable of leading the visitor's gaze and guiding them through an immersive experience: an exhibition that is experienced not only as a display, but as a lived-in space, familiar and vibrant with memory.
